MY TEACHING PHILOSOPHY
My teaching philosophy is student-centric. Because each student is unique, I approach lessons based on their individual needs and goals. I encourage with patience, and get really excited every time even a small amount of progress is made!
I am a Classically trained pianist, but I enjoy implementing many types of music into my lessons to create well-rounded musicians. And of course, my lessons have an element of fun! We play games, compose, improvise, and more to ensure students are gaining a quality music education that they enjoy.
MY BACKGROUND
I received my Masters of Music in Piano Performance and Pedagogy from the University of Oklahoma in 2019. Recently, I served as Director of Education at Recreational Music Center, where I taught private lessons and worked closely with instructors to offer advice and training. I’ve also taught Group Piano as an adjunct professor at PLNU. I am currently a member of several professional development organizations, including MTNA and MTAC.
